Secrets To Creating A Vibrant Business Community – Rich German

Most people dream about freedom from the shackles of a 9 to 5 job (or even from businesses that hardly allow them time to pursue other interests). Rich German is no longer one of those people. On October 9th, 2008, when he felt an unbearable pain in his chest as he stood in his living room, he feared that a savage cancer or tumour was ravaging his body.

Fortunately, his body was actually giving him an ultimatum. “Quit the job that’s sucking the soul out of you or die!” In that moment, Rich knew that he could not afford to ignore the warning. He willfully surrendered, picked up the phone and quit his job. At the time, the economy was crumbling, but he didn’t care. He took a giant leap into an unknown abyss…

Despite the frightening twists, turns, ups and downs, Rich insists that this is the greatest career move he ever made. “Following your soul’s path is not always easy but once you are on that path, there’s no way off of it.” He says. These days, he offers products and services designed to enrich people’s lives and his clients include top sales people, global entrepreneurs and small business owners — many earning well over $1,000,000 annually.

Since 1999, he has conducted thousands of coaching sessions and has led seminars for numerous professionals. His Epic Coach Academy, is a hands-on, year-long programme for coaches – helping them get more clients and become ‘rich in life!’ According to him, “wealth is being committed not only to your own success and but also making a difference in the lives of others.”

Rich surfs his talk! For instance, he regularly leverages digital technology to offer training events to hundreds of business people at a time and leads a vibrant online community known as The Joint Venture Insider Circle. Usage of the one-to-many service delivery model has given him freedom to spend hours paddling out deep on Laguna Beach, California, often in the mornings, to enjoy the beautiful scenery and photograph blue whales and dolphins. “Teaching and transforming hundreds of lives from my living room. No traveling, no airplanes. Life in board shorts… love it.” He says.

Rich Secrets…

The buzz in Rich’s JVIC mastermind is so rich (pardon the pun) that you can almost grab it and wrap it around your fingers. 24 hours a day, every single day, members from around the world are sharing their knowledge and resources, cheering one another on and of course brokering deals – all with an intensity and excitement that can be overwhelming for the faint of heart!

Unsurprisingly, Rich credits community building for much of his own success. Some time after starting out, an influential marketer became impressed with his book and promoted it to her large community. He leveraged the positive interest, built a community of his own and nurtured that community by providing useful content on a regular basis – even hosting an interview with Gary Vaynerchuk once.

His top tip for entrepreneurs? “Be a part of a community of committed experts and create your own community of people who are interested in what you have to offer.” How? “Just get on the phone and talk to people! Set a goal to reach out to 5 new people everyday and have at least 1 conversation with like minded people every single day for 90 days and you will create incredible results in your business. One of my clients did this religiously and had to stop after a few days as she had more opportunities and clients than she could handle as a result. When we reach out to other people with potential, get on the phone and speak to them… that’s when things happen.”

Rich is co-founder of The Joint Venture Insider Circle – a community for authors, speakers, and coaches, who want to create partnerships with like-minded people. You can find out more about the group at:
